Training and Development Resources

http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/trdev/

TRDEV, the Training and Development Discussion Group, began in October 2000 as a replacement to the TRDEV-L listserv created by Dr. David Passmore of Penn State. When he decided to discontinue TRDEV-L, several members created "trdev" at http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/trdev/

TRDEV is a place for people to discuss training and development issues in a professional, non-commercial, collegial forum--topics related to training, learning, and performance, from the specific to the general. Some discussions involve instruments, interventions, and products for which there is no evidence of reliability, validity, or efficacy. TRDEV's founders and coordinators believe with Passmore that in the marketplace, good ideas will eventually win out.

Discussions have dealt with assessment, attainments, benchmarking, competencies, content development, course development, e-learning, EPSS (electronic performance support systems), evaluation, facilitation, facilities design, human performance technology (HPT), human resource development (HRD), icebreakers (activities, not ships), instructional systems design (ISD), job aids, knowledge management, learning characteristics, learning outcomes, learning styles, needs assessment, objectives, organizational development (OD), organizational performance, performance improvement, planning, presentations, professional development, professional journals, return on investment (ROI), strategic analysis, task analysis, tools for training and learning, train-the-trainer, training and development, and values.

If these topics relate to your work or your interest, we invite and encourage your active participation in the community of practice that makes up TRDEV.
